Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Carpet Serger / Rug Finisher to join their rug distribution and finishing team in Houston, TX.

This is a hands-on position focused on measuring, cutting, serging, and finishing carpets and area rugs to ensure clean, professional results.

We are looking for someone with previous carpet cutting or serging experience who takes pride in quality workmanship and pays close attention to detail.

Flexible scheduling is available! Candidates must be available to work at least 3 days per week, with the opportunity to work full-time if desired.

Job Responsibilities

• Measure and cut carpet and rug materials to specified dimensions.

• Operate carpet serging machines to professionally finish rug edges.

• Trim, secure, and finish threads to ensure clean, consistent edges.

• Inspect completed rugs for quality, accuracy, and workmanship.

• Identify and correct imperfections in finished products.

• Handle and move carpet rolls and rug materials safely.

• Prepare completed rugs for packing, storage, or shipment.

• Maintain serging equipment and report any mechanical issues.

• Keep the work area clean, safe, and organized.

• Assist with additional rug finishing and production duties as needed.

Job Requirements

• Previous experience with carpet serging, rug finishing, or carpet cutting preferred.

• Experience operating a carpet serging machine is strongly preferred.

• Ability to accurately measure, cut, and finish carpet materials.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

• Comfortable performing hands-on production work.

• Ability to safely handle and move carpet rolls and rugs.

• Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.

• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.

• Must be available to work at least 3 days per week.
